Talofa I wanted to introduce myself to those looking to visit Samoa. My name is Karleen Rasmussen.

I know how overwhelming it can be to spend endless hours looking at websites and booking engines. I am originally from New Zealand but have lived in Samoa for the past 20 years. During this time I have had a business helping resorts and industry partners here in Samoa, including relief management of their properties, to building a Destination Wedding business, including being an IATA agent with a New Zealand Travel Broker company, but sadly as with many businesses COVID paused that. I do joke that I have retired from weddings, but I have a passion for helping others plan events remotely, just maybe on a smaller scale now.

I often see enquiries about which property would be suit peoples families, how many nights should we stay in different parts of the Island, yes all of this can lead to confusion and feeling a little overwhelmed. So, I thought I would just put this out there that if anyone would like help in planning their holiday in Samoa, please feel free to reach out.

Salty Lodge has 8 Oceanview Hotel style rooms, that can comfortably accomodate 3 adults in each room. We also have at present 5 bungalows that can accommodate between 2 and 6 people. (Each bungalow is different). The lodge is spread over 2.5 acres, and the Mulifanua Lagoon is located immediately across the road. It is privately owned.

Talofa everyone. I don't know if it's because of my daughters pending prom coming up and the organising around this, but for whatever the reason I logged into check my account, after 'going into retirement' from weddings.

I saw people were still reaching out, so my apologies that I had not been checking this for some time. I have decided that with all the years of knowledge and committment to this industry that I will be assisting again couples who are looking for a reliable point of contact here in Samoa, weddings and or honeymoons.

I will not be offering all the services I used to offer, but simply send me an email and a message and I am will see if I can assist.

Today's tip: Book your date as soon as possible, be sure to now the cancellation policies of the property you book with, not only for yourself but your travelling guests also. Both the bride and groom and their attending guests should attempt to at least hold an accommodation date 12 months before the big day, especially during peak tourism periods. Don't forget your travel insurance, and check your passport!

Happy 2023 to everyone! What an awesome summer New Zealand is now experiencing. I managed to enjoy 5 weeks back in New Zealand catching up with friends and family. My children even managed to swim in the river (they have all grown up in Samoa, so it was a bit of an ice bath experience), but certainly brought back many childhood memories for myself.

I am now back in Samoa, ready and waiting to assist with any questions you may have about Samoa.

Having made a number of arrangements for our NZ trip on line, it was a reminder about how time consuming this can be, and in some cases a little daunting relying on media platforms only, to make bookings.
