Lepea is proudly the home of Samoa’s first Prime Minister, Mataʻafa Faumuina Fiame Mulinuʻu II, one of the great founding leaders who guided Samoa into independence in 1962. His leadership, wisdom, and commitment to our people remain an enduring legacy that continues to inspire generations.
Lepea’s contribution to Samoa’s journey reminds us that our villages are the heart of our nation places where values are nurtured, leaders are raised, and history is made. From the legacy of Mataʻafa to the many sons and daughters who continue to serve Samoa in all walks of life, we carry forward a proud heritage of service and excellence.

With his family by his side, he brings the historic belt back to Samoa — the first Polynesian to win this title 🙌🔥. Forever grateful to God, humbled, and proud to call him one of our own.
