Samoa Business Hub

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week

Behind every programme, workshop, meeting and business we support are people — and their wellbeing matters. 🤝

This Mental Health Awareness Week, the different divisions of Samoa Business Hub come together to remind ourselves that taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our work.

Sometimes, a simple “How are you doing?”, a listening ear, a little patience, or taking a moment to breathe can make a big difference. 🌿

Let’s continue to create a workplace where we can speak openly, support one another, and remember that it’s okay to not be okay.

💚 Healthy minds help build stronger teams, stronger communities, and stronger businesses.

From all of us at SBH — your wellbeing matters.

📚 BUSINESS TIP TUESDAY #8

INVEST IN LEARNING

Successful entrepreneurs understand that learning doesn't stop once the business starts.

Whether it's improving your:
💰 Financial skills
📱 Marketing strategies
😊 Customer service
📊 Business management
💻 Technology skills

…every new skill can help you make better decisions and grow with confidence.
And sometimes, learning something new can even save you from making an expensive mistake.

🎯 CHALLENGE: What's ONE business skill you'd like to improve this month?
Maybe it's time to learn something you've been saying “I'll get to that one day…” about. 👀

📚 Explore SBH training programmes and continue building your business knowledge.

Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep growing. 🌱📈

⛳ Work Hard. Play Harder. Swing… Questionably. 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

The SBH teams brought their A-game—and a few highly creative golf swings—to the SCOPA Golf Tournament! 😎

We won prizes, special prizes, and perhaps most importantly, recognition for fully embracing the tournament spirit. Because while trophies are elite, enjoying the day like champions is even better. 🏆

It was a brilliant reminder that not everything is about deadlines, meetings, and emails marked “urgent.” Sometimes, it’s about fresh air, great company, friendly competition, and confidently shouting “FORE!” before anyone asks questions.

A fantastic day, plenty of laughs, and memories to match. We’re definitely coming back next year—hopefully with the same energy and slightly improved handicaps! ⛳😂

📝 BUSINESS TIP TUESDAY #7

📋 Create a Simple Business Plan

Have a great business idea?

Awesome! 💡👏

But if your entire business plan currently lives in your head…
“Trust me, I know what I'm doing!”
…it might be time to put it on paper. 📝

A business plan doesn't have to be 50 pages long or full of complicated words.

Start by answering some simple questions:
✔️ What do I want to achieve?
✔️ Who are my customers?
✔️ What am I selling?
✔️ How will my business earn income?
✔️ What will it cost to operate?

A clear plan can help you stay focused, prepare for challenges, set realistic goals, and communicate your business idea clearly to potential lenders or partners.

And remember: your first business plan doesn't have to be perfect.

Start with what you know, then review and improve it as your business grows. 📈

🤝 Need help developing your business plan?
SBH Business Advisors are here to support you.

💬 Be honest: Is your business plan written down… or is it currently living rent-free in your head?

🚨 WEEK 11 | Small Business Operations (SBO) Level II 💼📚

This week, our participants learned a skill that goes beyond the business plan — knowing what to do when an emergency happens! 🩹🚒

We were pleased to welcome the Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (SFESA) for an engaging First Aid Training session. 👩‍🚒

From learning how to respond in an emergency to gaining practical first-aid knowledge, our participants are building skills that can be valuable in the workplace, in their businesses, and in everyday life. 🙌

Because running a business is important… but knowing how to respond when someone needs help is just as important! ❤️

👏 Fa’afetai tele lava to SFESA for sharing your knowledge and helping equip our participants with these important life-saving skills!

🎓 Interested in joining the next SBO Level II programme? Follow Samoa Business Hub for updates and registration details when applications open! 📢

Sponsored by UNDP in Samoa, Cook Islands, Tokelau & Niue and UN Women Pacific under the M4C Samoa - Component II.

😊 BUSINESS TIP TUESDAY #6

🤝 Build Trust Through Customer Service

Want customers to come back?

Start with something that doesn't require a huge budget:

Treat them well. 😄

A warm greeting, a listening ear, a little patience, and keeping your promises can go a LONG way.

Because customers may forget what they bought… but they probably won't forget if you made them feel valued — or ignored. 😂

Great customer service can turn:
👤 A customer → into a regular
🗣️ A regular → into a referral
❤️ A referral → into a loyal customer

And the best part?

Good customer service is free! 💯
