Mulifanua, Aiga i le Tai: This weekend’s White Sunday (Lotu a Tamaiti) will carry extra meaning for one family in the village of Mulifanua.

Lillyeni and Samoanagalo, parents of eight children, welcomed triplet boys on a Monday, marking a special milestone for their growing family. After being blessed with five daughters, the couple welcomed their first sons, three baby boys born together, bringing their family to five girls and three boys.

The arrival of the triplets has been celebrated across the Aiga i le Tai district, where many describe the three boys as little miracles and blessings from God, making this year’s White Sunday an especially memorable occasion for the family.

🕊️ 17 years on, we remember.

Today, we honour the lives lost and the families and communities forever changed by the tsunami of 29 September 2009.
