The curved glass brick wall isn’t a random gesture — it was built from the first floor slab to create enough head height for the new staircase below. What began as a functional solution became a defining architectural feature, creating a softer and more generous experience of moving through the house.

Which view is your favourite?

Designed for this 2-bedroom apartment, the material palette was kept intentionally warm, tactile, and timeless. Soft timber joinery brings depth and warmth, glass brick walls filter natural light while creating subtle privacy between spaces, and seamless concrete flooring ties everything together with a calm, understated finish.
The result is a home that feels minimal yet inviting — bright, airy, and quietly grounded in texture. 🏠

Thiết kế - Luke Nguyen Lab cho Kiêu Kỳ House

Căn nhà vườn 2 tầng của team Luke Nguyen Lab vừa hoàn thành giữa lòng Hà Nội, nép mình giữa 9 căn nhà cao 5–6 tầng xung quanh. Công trình gồm 2 phòng ngủ, 2 phòng tắm, được xây dựng trên khu đất 90m² với diện tích sàn 54m², phần còn lại dành trọn cho sân vườn – khoảng thở quý giá giữa lòng đô thị.
Ngôi nhà được cải tạo từ hiện trạng cũ đã xuống cấp, ẩm thấp và thiếu sáng. Thách thức lớn nhất là đưa ánh sáng tự nhiên len sâu vào không gian khi khu đất dài và hẹp. Giải pháp được lựa chọn là mở các vách ngăn, tổ chức lại mặt bằng theo hướng liên thông giữa phòng khách – bếp – khu ăn, giúp không gian trở nên thoáng đãng và nhiều ánh sáng. Gạch kính được đưa vào khu vực phòng tắm để tăng cường ánh sáng tự nhiên, đồng thời vẫn đảm bảo sự riêng tư và tạo điểm nhấn cho không gian phòng khách. Bên cạnh đó, sự thay đổi cao độ trong từng khu vực tạo nên nhiều lớp không gian linh hoạt, phù hợp với công năng sử dụng: phòng khách rộng thoáng với trần cao, trong khi các không gian phụ như WC được tiết chế vừa đủ, mang lại cảm giác cân bằng và hợp lý cho toàn bộ ngôi nhà.

The two-story garden house by Luke Nguyen Lab has just been completed in the heart of Hanoi, quietly nestled among nine surrounding 5–6 story buildings. The project includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, built on a 90m² site with a 54m² footprint, leaving the remaining area dedicated to a lush garden — a rare breathing space within the dense urban fabric.

One of the biggest challenges was bringing daylight deep into the interior, given the long and narrow site. The design solution involved removing partitions and reorganizing the layout into an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area, creating a brighter and more spacious environment. Glass blocks were introduced in the bathroom to enhance natural light while maintaining privacy, simultaneously adding a distinctive visual feature to the living space. In addition, variations in floor and ceiling heights create layered, flexible spatial experiences tailored to different functions: a generous, high-ceiling living area, while secondary spaces like the WC are kept more compact, achieving an overall sense of balance and harmony throughout the house.
