Opportunity Excelerate Program

Each fall, grades K - 8 participate in an ELA and Math screening assessment. The two tests will be administered September 12, 2022, through September 21, 2022. We encourage students to stay hydrated and arrive well rested. ✏️

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in naming two of their newest canine colleagues. Lake County youth, currently enrolled in kindergarten through senior year of high school, are invited to participate. Today we wrapped up our institute day trainings in preparation for students tomorrow. We were excited to take a picture with our new staff.

Staff joined together at Zion Central Middle School to begin our Teacher Institute Days for the 2022-2023 school year. Excitement filled the rooms, collaboration and training abound, and and we are looking forward to seeing our students for the first day of school!

New Staff Orientation Training Week at Zion 6 finished today with continued enrichment and a city bus tour of Zion! New staff had the opportunity to learn about the history of Zion, local shops and establishments, as well as enjoy a relaxing stop to view Lake Michigan at Illinois State Beach Resort. Zion 6 will continue to prepare for the arrival of our students as we begin next week with All Staff Institute Days on Monday and Tuesday.

Zion 6 is kicking off the 2022-2023 school year with our New Staff Orientation Training Week! Attendees are participating in a variety of training opportunities that will continue throughout the week. We are excited to have our new Zion members join us for learning and fun!

Congratulations to the Zion Razzle Dazzle Baton Corp and our incredible Zion's Elmwood Elementary School secretary Ms. Laura Spaeth. The team competed in the Netherlands this past week. The USA Twirling Team Parade Corps has become world champions by earning Gold at the WFNBTA World Baton Twirling Championships.
