2024 Roads and Streets!

City of Somerton commissioned a new water tank to keep pace with the growth of the community on Thursday, July 18th, 2024. The new 1.2 million gallon tank along with the rehabilitation of the two existing steel tanks provides Somerton residents 3.4 million gallons of drinking water storage. Project designed by James Davey and Associates, now part of Core!

Core Engineering Group, PLLC Announces Acquisition of James Davey and Associates, Inc.

Douglas J. Nicholls, PE, RLS, founded Core Engineering Group, PLLC (Core) in February 2004. In the years since, he has surrounded himself with talented colleagues and an impressive roster of collaborative firms. This now includes the 2024 acquisition of James Davey and Associates, Inc. (JDA). JDA is a strong Yuma firm, founded in 1992 by James Davey, providing civil engineering, survey, and construction administration services, with special expertise in water supply and wastewater engineering and the planning and design of irrigation systems. James and his staff are joining the existing Core Team establishing Core as a pre-eminent provider of civil engineering and land surveying services effective, today July 1st.

The Yuma Fire Department's Fire Station 7 was officially opened and dedicated in memory of Fire Chief Raebel for his 24 years of service as Fire Chief (1952-1976). Core was honored to be part of the design and construction team to bring this to reality.
