📚A normal brain is shown on the left (A) and a brain with cortical atrophy caused by Alzheimer’s disease is shown on the right (B). Notice how the grooves or furrows in the affected brain, called sulci, are noticeably widened and there is shrinkage of the gyri, the well-developed folds of the brain’s outer layer.
🔎Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming so advanced and severe to interfere with daily activities.
🧠Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging, although the greatest known risk factor is increasing age, and the majority of people with Alzheimer’s are 65 and older. But, Alzheimer’s is not just a disease of old age. Up to 5 percent of people with the disease have early onset Alzheimer’s (also known as younger-onset), which often appears when someone is in their 40s or 50s.
💊Although current medications cannot cure Alzheimer’s or stop it from progressing, they may help temporarily lessen the symptoms, such as memory loss and confusion.

📚Ankle sprains are one of the most common orthopedic conditions and can lead to long-term impairments including ongoing pain, stiffness and gait abnormalities in as many as 72% of individuals. Furthermore, nearly 80% of those individuals who suffer a sprain are likely to experience reinjury.
👉Low ankle sprains can subdivided into inversion and eversion types with inversion sprains accounting for approximately 80% of cases. When excessive inversion of the foot occurs, the 3 lateral ligaments of the ankle are put under strain.
🔎Eversion, the opposite of inversion, is less likely to produce a sprain because of the dense medial ligament known as the deltoid ligament.
✅The ankle chapter in my book includes a comprehensive ankle sprain program that guides you through three phases of rehab. Comment ‘book’ in the comments section and I will send you a link you can use to get a copy of my book.
Repost - .official 🧠⚡ The Autonomic Nervous System: Your Body’s Silent Regulator ⚡🧠
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) controls all the involuntary processes that keep you alive and functioning:
Sympathetic Nervous System: ‘Fight or Flight’ – increases heart rate, dilates pupils, and prepares your body for action.
Parasympathetic Nervous System: ‘Rest and Digest’ – slows heart rate, promotes digestion, and calms the body.
Enteric Nervous System: The ‘second brain’ of your gut, regulating digestion.
Our 3D animation illustrates how these systems maintain balance without conscious effort.

Repost - .official 🦵 The Knee Joint: A Complex Structure of Bones and Cartilage
The knee is a hinge joint where bones like the femur (thighbone), tibia (shinbone), and patella (kneecap) come together, supported by cartilage that cushions and protects them during movement.
The cartilage, including the menisci, acts as a shock absorber, helping to reduce friction between bones as you bend, flex, and straighten your knee. Our animated knee joint highlights the importance of these structures in keeping your knee healthy and moving smoothly!
