You deflect.
You get defensive.
You twist the story until somehow, everyone else is the problem but you.
You gaslight.

And when someone finally works up the courage to tell you how they feel, you don’t hear them.. you spin the narrative.
You make it about you.
You never stop to ask yourself,
“How did my actions affect the people I claim to care about?”

You don’t want resolution.
You want control.

So no…
We couldn’t have “just talked about it.”
Not when you never had any intention of actually hearing me.
