We’d like to give a shoutout to and our very own , Mental Performance Coach, for becoming the 2024 PIAA Class 6A Boys Basketball Champions!👏
 
On Saturday, Central York made history when they defeated Parkland 53-51. This is the first state championship title in the program’s history and we are incredibly proud of this team for all of their hard work this season. Congratulations, Panthers! Way to may our community proud!

🚨Athlete Spotlight - 🏈👇

This week we’re highlighting another York native who just committed to Richmond University.

Saint Francis University freshman, Carter Glassmyer, made his collegiate debut in 2023. Totaling 90 tackles (50 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery this season, he averaged 9.0 total tackles per game, leading all freshmen in the nation. He was named NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year and nominated for the 2023 Jerry Rice Award, making Glassmyer the first defender in program history to be nominated for this award.

Carter Glassmyer graduated in 2022 from . In his time at Central, Glassmyer was a 2020 PIAA 6a state runner-up and PIAA District 3 champion, a 2021 First Team All-State YAIAA Defensive Player of the Year, and two time First Team All-YAIAA selection. He also served as team captain for the panthers while maintaining distinguished honors for all four years.

Glassmyer announced a few days ago that he has committed to the University of Richmond. We are so excited to continue to watch him grow at his new home.

🚨Athlete Spotlight - 🏈👇

This week we’re highlighting another York native who just wrapped up a successful first year as a wide receiver for .

Kenny Johnson was recruited in 2023 from Dallastown High School as a wide receiver for Pitt. After an incredible high school football career, Johnson became the first player from York County to be named MVP of the Big 33 game. He then went on to accept a full scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh.

So far in his first season a Pitt, Johnson caught 11 passes for 102 yards and 1 touchdown. He also added 72 yards rushing on 10 carries and accounted for 312 yards and a touchdown on 12 total kick returns.

Johnson recently announced he will return to Pitt for his Sophomore season. We are excited to cheer him on as his career continues.

This week were shining a light on a York County native, . Last month, Harris was signed to the practice squad.

Erik Harris graduated from New Oxford high school and went on to attend California University of PA where he played football for the division 2 school. In his time there, Harris was a First-team All-PSAC selection in 2010 and a Second-team All-PSAC selection in 2011. He made 231 tackles on defense in four college seasons.

In the 2012 NFL Draft, Harris was rated the 90th best strong safety. Harris was later signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2013, where he played 45 games. Harris then spent some time with the New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Atlanta Falcons before signing with the 49ers this November.

Last week, our mental performance coach, Kody Hartlaub, joined Delone Catholic’s Cross Country team for their week long pre-season camp. He worked with the students and coaches to implement ways to improve mental performance, enhance leadership and increase positivity and support throughout the team. We are so excited for Delone’s Cross Country team as they prepare to start a new season with a new mindset. Good luck, team!
