Our team had a great night at Art in Residence.

Creative York's annual fall fundraiser took over Investment Real Estate in downtown York, and this year's theme — Studies & Sketches — was about the part of art most people never see: the first marks, the rough draft, the idea before it works.

Artists painted live, start to finish, in 20 minutes. Works came out of private collections. There was an auction, raffles, and a lot of good conversation.

Congratulations to this year's honoree, Rob Evans.

And thank you to Creative York for having us. Everything raised goes back into art classes, scholarships and free programs for people all over York County.

Supporting our local arts community matters to us. York is a better place to live and work because of the people who make things here — and that includes the people making art.

Some things are bigger than business.

This past weekend, members of the JLS Automation team volunteered at the Bridge Building Festival supporting Building Bridges For Brianna, a York County-based nonprofit working to raise awareness of su***de prevention and mental health while connecting individuals and families with support and resources.

The festival brought together community organizations, families and supporters around an important cause.

We're grateful to our team members who showed up, and especially thankful to Building Bridges for Brianna and everyone who helped make the day possible. 💙

Forty lines, one for each passenger and crew member of Flight 93. Each line represents a life. The length, their age.

All of them cut short in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

We remember them.

There are still open chairs, and every unit collected today goes to a local hospital. If you're nearby and have a lunch break to spare, this is a good use of it.

Some of our team spent a day at Leg Up Farm in Mount Wolf — hauling, cleaning and pitching in wherever they were needed. It's a therapy center for children and adults with disabilities and unique challenges, just up the road from our shop in York.
