Luminary Productions LLC
Luminary Productions, LLC looks to be a beacon of hope and resilience in communities
I’ve been reflecting on a question sparked by Struggle Well by Ken Falke and Josh Goldberg:
Are we evolving the work, or just evolving the language?
As someone whose work has long been influenced by trauma-informed principles, I’m curious whether concepts like resilience, psychological safety, human-centered leadership, and post-traumatic growth represent genuine evolution or simply new terminology.
I’m running a poll on LinkedIn and would love a broader range of perspectives. *link in comments*

People often ask how organizations become more trauma-informed.
My answer is usually the same: it starts with the adults.
Not with a policy.Not with a training.Not with a new initiative.
It starts with how we treat one another.
The ability to build trust, regulate our responses, communicate with empathy, remain curious, and stay connected during difficult moments is at the heart of both trauma-informed practice and effective leadership.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen that when organizations intentionally invest in adult growth and relational capacity, everything else becomes possible: stronger teams, healthier cultures, more meaningful engagement, and better outcomes for the people we serve.
Whether in schools, nonprofit organizations, military-serving communities, or workplaces, culture is shaped through everyday interactions. Adult social-emotional learning isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s foundational to creating environments where people can thrive.
This article highlights something I’ve believed for a long time: meaningful and sustainable change begins with us.
