Black Sheep Rugby Club

A tough day doesn’t define a team. What they do next does. 🐑💗🖤

We opened with a 40–0 win, then took two hard losses. Not the finish we wanted—but exactly the motivation we needed.

Now we know what needs work. This week, we get after it.

Next stop: Vail. 10/10. 🏉🔥
Back to work, Sheep.

This one feels especially meaningful because this is where our roots are. 🏉

Northern Colorado Rugby Old Boys represents the community, relationships, and love of rugby that helped lay the foundation for what we’re building today with Black Sheep Rugby Club. Different generations, different jerseys — same rugby family.

We’re excited to support their Inaugural Quarterly Drink-Up and spend an afternoon with the people who have helped keep rugby alive and growing in Northern Colorado.

Come have a b**r, swap some stories, make some new connections, and support the rugby community that continues to give our players a place to grow — from their first tackle to their Old Boys days. 🖤🩷

Week 3. Let’s go Sheep!!

🏉 PLAYER PROFILE | BEN LECHMAN 🐑💗🖤

Ben is a Black Sheep original. Now in his third year of rugby, Black Sheep is the only club he’s ever called home—and he’s already packed a whole lot of rugby into those three years.

In 2025, Ben was selected to the USA West 14U 15s team, traveling to North Carolina for the Old North State tournament. In 2026, he traded the pitch for the mat long enough to become a Middle School Wrestling Regional Champion, then headed south with the USA West 14U 7s Blue Team for Tropical 7s.

He also earned a spot for NAI 7s this summer, but a broken wrist changed the plan. Instead of staying home, Ben still made the trip and became possibly the most overqualified water boy in Utah. 😂 That says quite a bit about who he is as a teammate.

Off the pitch, Ben is happiest riding his dirt bike, traveling somewhere new, trying food he’s never had before, or hanging out with his buddies.

We’ve had the privilege of watching Ben grow up in a Black Sheep jersey, and we’re excited to see where rugby takes him next.

Once a Black Sheep, always a Black Sheep. 🐑

You know we’ll be there! 🔥 🩷 🐑 🔥 🏉 🔥
