Hello dear friends....This month I celebrate 7 years of recovery from Bulimia. After 38 years of daily bingeing and purging. I am humbled to say this because I know it is one day at a time, one hour and one minute. I'm cheering you all on today. Much love to you.

"Today is World Eating Disorders Action Day. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric illness. People can have an eating disorder at any size and weight is not indicative of the severity of illness. You don't have to be skin and bones to be worthy of help. Many people die at completely normal weights. Eating disorders consume your life once they start. It becomes a life of numbers, exercise, bathrooms, never enjoying anything, canceling plans with friends because there may be food there. Hospital visits for fluids and electrolytes. Being unable to get out of bed because your body is too weak. Brittle hair and nails. Fractures from weakened bones. If you're living with an eating disorder you aren't truly living you're just existing and in reality dying... Eating disorders aren't a fad, they aren't a diet, they're a life-threatening life-consuming illness that deserves adequate treatment and to be taken seriously " -- De Belinsky

In honor of week ,the truth is that, just like depression and anxiety, eating disorders aren't something we can simply package into a weeks awareness and put a nice tidy bow on top. The struggle is real. And people deal with it every day of every week of every year. But awareness *is* crucial and communication is essential. Let's do what we can to support each other.
I want to remind myself and all of the incredibly strong and beautiful women I've met throughout this journey-- that we are infinitely greater than the voices in our head that diminish us. keep fighting and remember you are YOU! and you are so much more than what ED tells you you are. you are all warriors and you are all my heroes💜 sending all my love💕
