January 2023. At the time, I was stepping into a new chapter as an Exactly What to Say Licensed Guide, not realizing the full opportunity to be discovered over the next few years. In hindsight; now I see something bigger was clearly unfolding.

A deeper commitment to communication. Leadership. Curiosity. Speaking & Training.

Setting the room. Setting tables, mapping wayfinding, organizing vendors, checking on speakers, Testing the sound. Preparing the stage. Checking the details. Solving problems before they become larger obstacles. HOLDING THINGS TOGETHER.

These humans are the TRUE GLUE.

Every company has them. Every team has them. Every event has them. The humans working behind the scenes who make it possible for others to do their best work.

One of the things professional speaking has taught me is to notice the TRUE GLUE. Respect their expertise. Be prepared. Be the professional who aims to make the job of the true glue easier, not harder.

Because what happens when the mic turns on is only possible because of everything that happened before it.
