As a part of crowd management training, BLET cadets are introduced to riot control agents CS and CN. As a part of this training, they are exposed to CN gas in an indoor confined setting as well as CS gas in an outdoor setting. Exposure to these irritants gives the cadets a realistic experience of the effects on individuals should it become necessary to deploy them. Cadets are also trained to use different line formations to control a crowd.

Recently cadets went through BLET driving training. This includes learning a wide range of skills which includes pursuit driving, emergency response, and precision exercises. Cadets learn to respond to calls effectively, handle high-speed driving, and operate vehicles in various conditions. Cadets recently spent time performing “grass drills.” These drills are exercises used to build physical endurance, discipline, communication, and ultimately teamwork. BLET cadets are taking part in traffic accident training this week. This specialized training includes how to respond to the accident scene, managing the site, collecting evidence, motor vehicle law, and more. Last week BLET cadets went through training for crime scene investigations. This type of training helps cadets develop essential skills for identifying, securing, documenting, and collecting physical evidence, which ensures the integrity of investigations. BLET cadets have been participating in Compliance and Control Tactics (CCT) training. They are learning techniques for handling resistance, focusing on arrest, proper handcuffing, and using minimal force to maintain safety. Last week BLET cadets started fi****ms training. They are being trained to build safety, be proficient, and learn split-second decision-making skills necessary for law enforcement. This type of training ensures officers can legally and safely handle weapons, manage high-stress situations, and use force only as a last resort. 127th Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy cadets begin at 6AM daily. Cadets have recently begun fi****ms training.
