The numbers Daniel Jackson is putting up haven't existed in college baseball. Until now.

The Georgia junior became the first catcher and only the sixth Division I player ever to record 30 home runs and 25 stolen bases in the same season, while hitting .396 with 84 RBI along the way.

He also led the SEC in batting average and home runs, was named the SEC Tournament MVP as the Bulldogs claimed their first-ever SEC tournament title, and is now a finalist for both the Buster Posey Award and the Dick Howser Trophy. Behind the plate, he's been equally locked in, committing just two errors all season and posting a .995 fielding percentage.

Historic. Relentless. The full package. โšพ๏ธ

The organization formerly known as the Wichita Wind Surge announced today that it will officially rebrand as the Wichita Turbo Tubs, ushering in a new era of fun, entertainment, and community connection for baseball fans across Wichita, Kansas.
ย
The new identity reflects the evolving spirit of Minor League Baseball, where creativity, family entertainment, and unforgettable fan experiences have become just as important as the action on the field. Across the country, teams have embraced bold and unconventional names to stand out, connect with local culture, and create excitement beyond the game itself.
ย
โ€œThis is more than a name change itโ€™s a celebration of who we are and where weโ€™re headed. The community asked for this, and we have made the bold change!โ€ย said Matt Hamilton, Wind Surge General Manager. โ€œBaseball should be fun, memorable, and uniquely tied to our community. The Turbo Tubs captures that energy in a way that fans of all ages can rally behind.โ€

Meet the first Auburn Tiger ever named a Buster Posey Award Finalist โ€” Chase Fralick!

The sophomore has done things behind the plate and at it that no Auburn catcher has done before. He leads the Tigers in doubles (18), home runs (20), RBI (60), and slugging percentage (.655), with his home run total being the most by an Auburn catcher IN PROGRAM HISTORY!

Fralick also earned Regional MVP honors to help push Auburn into the Super Regionals. His head coach Butch Thompson said it best: "As good as I have ever seen. The offense is just amazing. That's why I think Chase Fralick will play the game for a very long time."

History-making. Clutch. Complete. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿฏโšพ๏ธ

Meet our newest Operations Intern, Colin Crowell! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Colin is a Kansas City guy through and through! He is a die-hard Royals and Chiefs fan who lives for the highs AND the lows that come with loving your hometown teams.

His favorite sports memory? Alcides Escobar's leadoff inside-the-park home run in the 2015 World Series. In Colin's own words, it "set the tone and showed the fight that the 2014 disappointment wouldn't be repeated." We respect a fan who remembers the details.

We're fired up to have Colin on board and can't wait to see what he brings to the WSC family. Welcome to the team! ๐ŸŽ‰

Dennis came to Wichita State in 1991 and became a midweek starter for a Shocker team that went to the College World Series final. As a senior, he was 9-2 with a 1.35 ERA and named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year and first team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Collegiate Baseball.

Dennis was drafted in the seventh round by San Diego and pitched four seasons in the Padres organization. In 1996, he was the Padres Minor League Pitcher of the Year and spent four seasons with the Padres and two seasons with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan.

While at Wichita State, Dennis majored in radio / television journalism and served as color commentator on Shocker womenโ€™s basketball broadcasts. In 2001, he returned to Wichita as play-by-play voice for the Double-A Wichita Wranglers before going back to Wichita State as director of baseball operations for 12 years.

Dennis is now part of the WSU baseball broadcast team and hosts a daily sports show, The Shane Dennis Show, on ESPN Wichita radio station.

Wichita lost a legend this week.

Cleo Littleton, Wichita State's all-time leading scorer, passed away Sunday at the age of 93. But his impact on this city goes far beyond the 2,164 points he put up as a Shocker from 1951โ€“55.

When Littleton arrived at the University of Wichita, basketball was an afterthought. Nine people held season tickets!! By the time he left, fans were packing a brand-new 10,000-seat arena to watch the Shockers. He made the whole city fall in love with the game.

Off the court, Littleton was just as remarkable! He turned down the NBA to stay in Wichita, built a successful business career, and never stopped showing up for this community โ€” whether that was sitting in the stands at Shocker games or catching local high school basketball with friends.

His number is retired. His records still stand. And his love for Wichita never wavered.

Rest easy, Cleo. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

From an ASUN program that's putting teams on notice, meet Buster Posey Finalist, Jon Embury!

The FGCU sophomore is one of just three ASUN players ever to reach the finalist stage of the Buster Posey Award, and he earned it by doing things you simply can't ignore.

He led the entire conference in RBIs (60) and RBIs per game, while his 144 total bases ranked 48th nationally and first in the ASUN. His arm behind the plate was equally as elite, throwing a grand total of 20 runners out who were attempting to steal.

Great Power. Great Bat. Great Defense. โšพ๏ธ The complete package.
