Emporia’s new Fire Station 1 is officially open—its first ground-up fire station and a major investment in public safety for the City. The new 25,000 SF facility was designed by TESSERE to meet modern operational demands and support faster response times.

Inside, the floor plan prioritizes operational efficiency and decontamination, along with wellness-forward features like natural daylight and individual sleeping rooms to support firefighters’ well-being—everything they need to perform at their best.

Congratulations to the City of Emporia and the Emporia Kansas Fire Department on this important community milestone.

The ribbon cutting for the new Chambers County EMS Facility took place last week, and this ceremony was especially meaningful. Blending time‑honored tradition with modern design, the Grand Lodge of Texas conducted a historic cornerstone ceremony, an enduring ritual found in civic and government buildings across the state of Texas.

Designed as a 19,580 SF emergency response center, regional education hub, and community emergency shelter, the new Chambers County EMS facility stands as a powerful reminder that architecture plays a vital role when lives depend on it. We are honored to have participated in a moment that celebrates both history and forward‑thinking design.

The final beam is in place at the WSU Tech NCAT Expansion!
