This program provides supplemental food for children in need at participating schools in Wheat Ridge during the school year.
Experience shows that children who aren’t hungry have improved grades and increased attendance. Backpack programs across the country help this happen by providing extra food so children won’t be hungry over the weekend and will be ready for school on Monday. On Colorado Gives Day please consider a donation to the Wheat Ridge Feed the Future Backpack program through the Wheat Ridge Community Foundation or the Arvada Community Food Bank.

We are providing food to over 350 elementary children at Kullerstrand, Pennington and Stevens Elementary Schools, and the Wheat Ridge Head Start School. All of the money donated goes to providing food for these children in need.

This weekend the Arvada Community Food Bank is hosting their annual Gala- Top Hats and Ball Caps. The ACFB is vital to the Wheat Ridge Community and to the Wheat Ridge Backpack program by providing all of our food. This is a super fun event that has a little of something for everyone! Please consider joining us to celebrate and support this great organization! Today is the LAST day to purchase online tickets at the presale price! We're off and running! The 2015/16 school year has started and so has the Wheat Ridge Feed the Future Program! Schools served this year by the program are Pennington ES, Kullerstrand ES, and the NEW Stevens ES.
Take Note!
Stevens ES is now located in the building that previously housed Wheat Ridge 5/8 at 7101 W 38th Ave. The new Stevens ES serves pre-K thru 6th grade. Pictured below are some of the Sept 10th FTF volunteers and the new Stevens Elementary School sign being installed!

Thank you Holy Cross and all of the participants in today's inaugural 5K!!
Today, Holy Cross Lutheran Church sponsored the first annual Feed the Future 5K Run. Wheat Ridge Police Chief Dan Brennan accepted a check for $3000 from WRPD Police Chaplain Scott Moore of Holy Cross to support the Feed the Future program. This program provides school meals for underprivileged elementary school children in Wheat Ridge schools.
