Florida: Beyond the Theme Parks

For nearly two months, Florida was home. We found beautiful beaches, amazing wildlife, incredible food, and a side of the state that had nothing to do with theme parks.

Our thoughts after spending five weeks in South Carolina.

When we hear the term "deep south," South Carolina is what comes to mind.

Southern iced sweet tea was invented here, and it's the best sweet tea we've ever had! (Apologies to the rest of the south)

It's not our favorite food scene (don't come at us 🫣).

HOWEVER the desserts are top notch.

The people are so warm!! True southern hospitality at its finest.

If you're on the coast, there's not much of an accent. If you're on the north west corner of the state, the accents are thiiiiick. And in the best way possible.

South Carolina is eerily beautiful.

And yes, we absolutely are looking forward to coming back through again next year.

You know there's something special about a place when all the locals say you HAVE to visit it.

While you may be thinking, it's just a chili dog, it's actually so much more. We were greeted by the warmest staff ever and quickly found ourselves caught up in conversation with the people running the place, and soon realized why it was so special.

We actually heard someone come in and say, "I'll have my usual." And that says SO much about a place.

And it was a unique experience for us, too. Being from Texas, we’re used to chili being a certain way. This was unlike any chili we have ever had. You could actually eat it with your hands and not make a mess! Unlike ANY chili we have ever eaten back home 😅

It may not be the type of restaurant we usually feature in our content, but we had to share because it is so loved by the local community, and truly, we love that more than anything.

Completely bummed that England and America won't be playing each other in Philly on July 4th. It just so happens, we'll be there during that time and had big plans to run through the streets shouting "The British are coming! The British are coming!" 😂
