Wellesley Community Fridge Project

We're grateful to have partnerships with volunteers and groups like and Charles River Regional Chamber. But the fridge is still in need of a HOME. 🌎 Earth Day is April 22nd and we want to announce our future home by then! A community fridge is built by it's community- and to ensure a host is a perfect partnership for everyone, we have a Wish List:

- Easily accessible location in Wellesley.
- Able to connect to electricity for fridge/ lighting.
- Local business or organization on private property.
- Parking available space to receive quick deliveries/ pick-ups by personal vehicle.
-Supports our mission of providing 24/7 access to free food to our neighbors.

The 2021 Earth Day Litter Cleanup takes place this weekend all over the world. Volunteers invited for the Barton Rd & Ouellet Park Community Clean up on Thursday April 22nd to be held 1-3pm.

This event is resident initiated along with friends, neighbors and community volunteers and is open to all who wish to participate.

Wellesley Housing Neighbors! Last minute Easter basket 🧺 fillers are available. ( First come 1st serve) PM me asap for pick-up! Donated items for our New " Community Chest". "Community Chest" is my brainchild and the goal is to share useful items to neighbors in need at no cost. PM.me if your interested in contributing or working with me to facilitate.

We haven't given up! The work continues....Friday I was Establishing the foundation for the Community Fridge Project by attending a networking Virtual Coffee for Wellesley Businesses and Non Profits. Thank you Newton Needham Regional Chamber for setting up this event! 🥧🧃🥚

Our Community Fridge is NOT open yet but we are still trying to connecting families in need with donations. I will soon give notice for all to join a meeting next week to discuss next steps.

Hello all,
Thanks for your support and momentum in getting the community fridge news out. I spoke with the Wellesley Health Department and there are some concerns we are working out. Unlike most fridges this will sit on Wellesley Housing Authority property and that gives them all the control over what happens next.
We have a meeting set for next Monday. I am certain we can make it work.
If anyone has serve safe managers certification, right now I need you like crazy. PM me for details. All else hang in there, let everyone know. If you have the opportunity contact the Wellesley Housing Authority and the Wellesley Health Department to let them know we really want to do this and will take care of all concerns.
