What better way to celebrate Earth Day than highlighting the Seed St. Louis Legislator Reception I attended yesterday. (formerly Gateway Greening) is a local nonprofit that connects people to the land, their food, and each other. They have a network of 250+ community gardens, school gardens, and urban orchards; adult education programs; school gardens serving 16,000 children; and a Land Trust to preserve these projects for future generations.
As someone who enjoys gardening and growing their own food (check out my garden photos!), the work Seed St. Louis is doing throughout the metro area is truly inspiring. Happy Earth Day, everyone!

Recently, our founder Pam, traveled to Europe with her family and had the privilege of spending a day in Salzburg, Austria. One of their most impactful stops was Mirabell Gardens, where they had the realization that this beautiful landmark was one of the few places that had survived the WWII bombings. The historic architectural detail, along with the many stunning statues, remain to this day.
A little background 🌺
Mirabell Gardens was designed by Fischer von Erlach and is considered to be one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe. It’s sprinkled with figures and reflecting pools, making the attraction feel like an open-air museum.
It has also stood the test of time. During WWII, almost half of Salzburg’s buildings were destroyed in multiple Allied air strikes. Although most of the town vanished, much of the baroque elements remained, making Salzburg the Northern gem of cities with this architectural style.

It’s no secret: we ❤️ logos.
And ice cream. And ice cream trucks. Who doesn’t?
When the Fire & Ice Cream Truck] rolled into our lives, it came in hot. As St. Louis’ first-ever food truck, it was already notorious—but the 1940’s vintage truck needed something to pair along with its artisan ice cream. It needed a hot new logo.
Our inspiration came from rusted bolts, polished valves, Hot Rod references, irreverent art, and oxymoronic contradictions—sweet heat, cool passion, freezer burns.
It’s still one of our favorite past projects.

It's homecoming season, so let’s blast to the past 🚀
It’s the year 1966. Anti-Vietnam war rallies are sweeping the country as “Good Vibrations” and “Yellow Submarine” are hitting top charts. Miniskirts are all the rage. Star Trek makes its TV debut. NASA launches Lunar Orbiter 1, the first U.S. spacecraft to orbit the Moon.
And, let’s not forget, the Burroughs class of 1966 graduates high school.
We had a ton of fun designing the invitations for their 45th reunion back in 2011. Along with classic RSVP cards and agendas, alumni also received CD’s loaded with past reunion memories (encased neatly in classic 45 rpm record sleeves).

We talk a lot about graphic design, but this post is all about copywriting.
Not copyrighting (©). Copywriting is the art of writing copy, i.e., the words you see on ads, emails, and yes, Instagram captions 😏
We believe that good copywriting makes you feel something. It meets you where you are, reminds you of who you are, and gives you a reason to care.
When home loan rates reached an all-time low, we had the opportunity to work on Midwest BankCentre’s 2019 Mortgage Campaign. After several concepting sessions, we wrote fresh copy for email blasts, social media posts, print brochures, and digital advertisements. We then designed a set of clean, professional graphics—but the copy reminded the hero of the story. Because this campaign was about reminding people that though homeownership isn’t always easy, having a bank you can trust can make all the difference.
