In celebration of Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month, our PTO is excited to bring Samba to Salsa: A Journey Through Latin Percussion to Wayne Elementary School on Tuesday, October 6! This dynamic, interactive performance will introduce students to a variety of Latin and Brazilian percussion instruments and the vibrant rhythms they create. Students will discover how percussion can be used as a form of communication, explore how music connects to everyday sounds, and experience a performance by professional musicians. With songs, audience participation, and active listening, this program promises to be an engaging and joyful celebration of music, culture, and community!

Save the date and get your sitters ready now! Parent Socials are parties hosted by parents of a child in each grade and are great for meeting other parents in your child’s grade. These get-togethers are a blast and a way to hang out with other parents outside of school... without the kids! Make sure to check out class emails for additional details for your grade.

Come join us right after school at some of our local parks throughout the Fall and Spring while the weather is nice for an informal opportunity to have our students play and for all of us to build the WES community. WES PTO will provide the pizza, so bring the energy and appetite!

Celebrate Literacy on Dolly Day!
On Friday, 9/25 RTSD is celebrating Dolly Day! Dolly Parton recognized the importance of early literacy and ensuring children have access to books. To support this important cause, families are invited to donate a new or gently used book to support students in underserved areas. Books will be collected in each school building. Students are also invited to dress in their favorite western wear, sparkles, pink attire, favorite book character, or a Reading Olympics T-shirt.
