A fascinating peak behind the scenes of EdgeStretching project, De-construction. EdgeSt photographs real European streets, then places oversized excavators, wrecking balls, and drilling rigs inside them, generated and composited until the seam disappears.
876 source photographs, 281 selected generations, over twenty months. The work never tells you what was documented and what was constructed.
That refusal is the point. The machines read as command — over the physical world, over the frame. Set against cities layered with memory, that command turns uncertain. Her own note on the project: ‘It is not clear whether they are destroying to prepare or to erase.’

There are deep cultural anthropological themes in work. Highly metaphorical in the alienation and isolation of crowded cities as a presage to the great disruption brought about by the passage to an all encompassing digital world.
