Ladybug Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a new farm in Waycross, just off Central Avenue. Gary & Lynn Wood Strickland grow vegetables just like our grandfather did. Gary grew up in Nahunta and is a veteran who served 20 years in the military and 33 years in public service. Lynn comes from a family who served 26 years in the military and has been in public service for 14 years. Gary &
Lynn have been a lifetime helping others especially veterans. When they lived in FL they donated food from their garden weekly to the Manatee County Food Bank to help feed people in their community. Our goal is to produce the most healthiest, chemical free vegetables for our customers. We use no pesticides or chemical fertilizers to grow our plants. Ladybug Farm CSA will offer vegetables year round by using our greenhouse and row covers to protect crops from cold weather. Research shows that vegetables you buy at your local super market has been sprayed with chemicals and pesticides. This food comes from Mexico, China and South America, where there are no standards. Most of the vegetables grown here in the US are laden with chemicals. Ladybug Farm CSA doesn't want you to serve your family these chemicals that cause cancer and other illnesses. When you eat our veggies, you are eating food that is grown naturally with the assurance you are getting nothing but healthy vegetables. We plan on offering fresh vegetables to our local school systems as part of the USDA "Farm to School Program". We want our local school children to have the opportunity to eat natural grown fresh vegetables. We will also offer farm tours for local schools starting 2014 - 2015 school year for our local schools in Brantley, Pierce and Ware Counties.
