We need your help!

About 81% our families have completed Returning Student Registration for the 2026-27 school year. We need to get to 100% as soon as possible.

If you're in the group that needs to finish up, call the District Office at 515-987-5161 for help.

Our teachers in the science department had their classes put their engineering skills to the test with an exciting egg drop experiment! Students worked hard designing creative ways to protect their eggs while learning about force, motion, and impact. 👏

A special shoutout to our principal for helping make the experiment even more exciting by dropping the final tests from the roof! It was a fun and memorable hands-on learning experience for everyone involved, thank you teachers.

Enjoy just a few of the photos and videos from start to finish!😊

Today we had the opportunity to celebrate our Wee Care kids with a special clap out to end this year and shout out to the Preschool graudate! 👏 It was such a joyful moment watching students and staff come together to cheer them on and celebrate all of their growth, learning, and accomplishments this year. We are so proud of our Wee Care students and all they have achieved! Have a great summer little warriors!😊

Our English teachers, Mr. White and Mr. Feltes, brought literature to life by having students create character silhouettes! This creative activity helped students dive deeper into their reading while expressing their understanding in a fun and visual way. It’s great to see learning come alive through these engaging projects!😊

In Modern World History, Mr. Varley’s 9th graders explored the complexities of globalization through a hands-on simulation set in the Ecuadorian Rainforest. 🌎

Students took on different roles, representing groups with a variety of interests in the region—from families wanting to continue living there peacefully, to workers searching for safer opportunities, to businesses looking to drill for oil.

Throughout the simulation, students formed alliances, negotiated deals, and worked through conflicts as they experienced both the cooperation and challenges globalization can create. It was an engaging way for students to strengthen their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills!. 👏

Ms. Danilson’s classes have been busy creating and learning through hands-on experiences as we wrap up this school year!

In Culinary, her students made mini fruit pizzas while practicing knife skills, plating, and presentation techniques. 👩‍🍳

In Child Development, her students led engaging lessons with the Wee Care kids through activities like hopscotch, crafts, bead stringing, and more—filling the room with learning and lots of laughter! 💛🎨

Her Child Development students also went on a field trip to VMLC to work with preschoolers and continue building their hands-on learning experiences!😊

Friday Funday in the Arts Department hallway was shuffleboard last week! Students and staff enjoyed some friendly competition filled with lots of laughs and plenty of “opes.” 😊

A big shoutout to Ms. Merrick, Ms. Sullivan, and Ms. VanDerWeide for keeping the Friday Funday fun going each week! 👏

What fun will the next two Fridays bring as we wrap up the school year? 👀

We would like to recognize some exceptional readers at Prairieview!📚🎉

A big shoutout to Isaac Lind for completing both the Iowa Teen and Iowa High School Reading Challenges—what an amazing accomplishment! Way to go, Isaac! 👏

We’d also like to congratulate our top reader for the 2025–2026 school year, Lucy Marwedel! Lucy has logged an impressive 46 books in Beanstack, and we have a feeling she’s read even more than that! 📖✨
