For those those of you who've expressed a desire to attend Megan Lostroh's celebration of life on Saturday, but can't physically be in Omaha, I just found out they will have it on Facebook Live.

I hoped I would never have to write this post. Alas. Megan passed away late last month, surrounded by family.

She was a lively soul with a sense of humor and a nurturing side to help put our woes into a healthy perspective - a beacon of comfort in difficult times.

She was a natural teacher and mentor, ever calm and cordial, no matter what life was throwing at her at any given moment. A student of all things string, the guru was always happy to share her knowledge and wisdom on the subject.

She strove to bring out the best in others, and inspired us to to take our arts to the next level as we delved into new ones, and become well-rounded fiber artists.

You had to watch your step when you stepped into the shop with all the rabbit holes strewn about. I, personally, walked into her shop 10 years ago looking for yarn to crochet a hat, and 5 years later, emerged as a knitter, spinner and weaver as well (and a member of a guild!).

They say there is the family you're born with, and the family you choose. She was a chosen sister and she is already sorely missed.
