The Metropolitan Chorale exists to build community in our region through bringing people together to make great music that moves audiences.
We welcome all singers (no audition required) and perform 2-4 concerts per year! The Metropolitan Chorale, comprised of singers from Iowa's Cedar Valley, annually performs 2-3 concerts with orchestra and soloists in various Waterloo and Cedar Falls venues. It is an organization of amateur and professional vocalists under the direction of Ryan Occena.

We can't wait for Voces8 to be in town! March 1st at 2:00PM at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center! Members of the Metropolitan Chorale will sing in the main GBPAC area in the afternoon, as will our friends at Bel Canto Cedar Valley. It's sure to be an exciting day!

Singers! Our new semester starts tomorrow, Monday Jan 12th, from 7-9pm, with registration starting at 6:30! You may register anytime using our online registration form, at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/metropolitan-chorale-spring-2026-memberships.
You may also register during the first 3 rehearsals, held at Bethel Hall at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls from 7-9pm, registration from 6:30 until rehearsal.

There are few things in life greater than uniting with others to sing. On behalf of the Metropolitan Chorale, we thank you for coming to our concert, joining with us in song, and sharing in the Christmas spirit! We are so excited to welcome two 6th graders as our soloists during A Ceremony of Carols! Veronica Occeña and Ethan Rohde impressed us with their beautiful vocal skills at our last rehearsal, and it will be such a delight to have them sing with us during our performance!

Thank you to our Artistic Director and conductor, Ryan Occena, our board president, Donna Mallin and KWWL for their News At Noon promotion of our upcoming concert! It will be a beautiful afternoon filled with Christmas music, both traditional and non-traditional as we sing Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols", feature other familiar tunes, and sing Christmas Carols. There will even be opportunities for the audience to join in the singing (if that's your thing)!
See you at 3pm at First Congregational Church, 608 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702. Tickets are available at the door! Adults $15, families $25, students are free (with ID).
