This tornado rating is unknown (EF-U) because there was no damage done.

Two more tornadoes confirmed from the NWS survey team from the storms on Tuesday.

It has been an active April. These are all the warnings issued in Iowa so far this month...as of the 16th.

In the aftermath of major storms, reports of fraudulent or unqualified contractors often increase. Homeowners should take the time to research and select reputable professionals. Residents can verify that any contractor they consider is properly registered through the Iowa Division of Labor at https://laborportal.iwd.iowa.gov/iwd_portal/publicSearch/public before signing a contract.

Residents are also reminded that door-to-door sales require a solicitor’s license from the City of Cedar Falls and most repair work also requires a building permit. Obtaining the proper building permits—and ensuring inspections are completed—helps protect homeowners by confirming that repairs meet safety and construction standards. For questions about permits, inspections, or contractor requirements, residents are encouraged to contact Cedar Falls Community Development (bit.ly/CommDevCF) before any work begins.

Cedar Falls Police advise residents to be wary of contractors who use high-pressure tactics, demand large upfront payments, or offer to begin work without securing the necessary permits.
