Hugging Tree Nature-Based Preschool serves children ages 3-5 years old.
Our mission is to meet the needs of the whole child, while nurturing a lifelong appreciation of the natural world.

Week 4
It was another wet week, BUT we finally saw blue sky and sunshine at the end of the week! It was beautiful!
We took several Bunch Bike adventures between the rain and found amazing fungi, a herd of deer, and two flocks of wild turkeys.
Back at Hugging Tree we picked our pumpkins and harvested marigold, zinnia, and milkweed seeds.

We frequently get asked, "What do you do when it rains?"
The answer:
When it's not thundering or lightning, we put on our rain gear and embrace the rain. However, we always have the garage set up as our dry space. Sometimes we just need a break from the wetness.
Here's a peek at today's dry space.
When it won't stop raining, we embrace it!

Today we found 4 monarch caterpillars on our milkweed! They better hurry up so they make it to Mexico this year!

Week 3
Guess what! More rain!! We are discovering that rain brings out new things to explore like snails, fungi, worms, and the properties of mud!
The rain is also keeping everything nice and green.

We noticed a lot of fungi on our adventure today. In just a small area, we found 13 species of fungi! The kids wanted to share their fungi "collection" with all of you! Here it is!

Week 2
It was a rainy week, so we enjoyed puddle jumping, a thunder dance party, and perfect sandcastle conditions!
During the breaks in the rain, we took two Bunch Bike adventures. The highlight of one adventure was watching a praying mantis!
