It’s potato digging season and boy did we have a good season! As a result of our bountiful harvest, we will be selling potatoes for $1/lb tomorrow at the Waterloo Farmers Market.

We have a few bushels of purple hull peas available pick-up or delivery! They don’t last long so get yours while they’re in season.

Last week we had the privilege of hosting a field day for Iowa State University and talk about our operations as well as our process of doing organic.

Over 50 people of all ages joined us to learn and enjoy food grown on our farm.

Meet Southern Goods owner Shaffer Ridgeway and learn about his farm’s journey towards organic certification. The event will feature an on-farm organic vegetable variety trial. Learn about the Natural Resources Conservation Service and cost-share programs for your farm. Urban producers, gardeners, and beginning farmers are encouraged to ask questions and meet with specialists from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
