This is an independent community page that aids WWAS residents to find adopters through social media. These funds provide for the operation of the shelter only.
WWAS is a rural shelter located about 40 miles east of Athens. We specialize in both cat and dog adoptions and occasionally small animal adoptions. We only accept owner surrenders and/or strays from Wilkes County residents. The shelter is funded by the City of Washington and Wilkes County. Bert Fortson Flakes is helping us celebrate World Cat Domination Day🤣 If you're a cat owner , it needs no explanation. Drop a picture of your cat. Remember this cutie who was adopted last week? Well, her brother Big Back Bolboa is still waiting for his forever home. He is 13 weeks old, some sort of little Terrier mix, current with puppy shots for his age and we will neuter and chip him. If you are looking for a small dog, come by and meet Big Back.

Cute Jada is an 8 month old American Bulldog mix. Fun , playful girl who will fit right into a family with other dogs or kids or both. She is current with her puppy shots and dewormed. We will heartworm test her, spay and chip her. Come by and meet this sweet girl.

Fudge is an 8 month old male cat who is waiting for a forever home. Friendly boy, good with the other cats, current with his vaccinations, FIV/FeLV negative and neutered. Adoption fee is $45.
