Pavement ants, also called slab ants or sugar ants invade homes in search of food and water. Their nesting site(s) are often 6”-12” below grade. Home built on full slabs or partial slabs often see these ants year round.

Carpenter bees resemble Bumble bees but typically have a shiny black abdomen.
They generally tunnel into seasoned wood to lay their eggs. Entrance holes are symmetrically round, about 1/4 inch in diameter. They are very territorial and will aggresively fly around their nest(s) to defend it.

Yellow Jackets are known as one of the most aggressive of all stinging wasps. Their sting are extremely painful and oftentimes cause allergic reactions.

There are several DO’S and DON’Ts when discovering Yellow Jacket nests. If the nest is in a wall void, DON’T seal their entrance hole and DON’T spray aerosol into the hole. Doing so will only make a bad situtuon, worse.
DO stay away from the area and keep pets away as well.
