Come join us tomorrow afternoon in the library to help us kick off the 2026 One Book Project! 📚 We'll be discussing Celeste's book "We Need to Talk" and the related titles for kids, teens, and adults, reviewing the community wall, and talking about how to participate over the next two months. Cookies and tea/water will be provided! See you there.

The 2026 One Book Project has officially kicked off, and this year's title is "We Need to Talk" by Celeste Headlee.

In her book, Celeste argues that meaningful conversations require listening, empathy, openness, and a willingness to learn from others. She insists that we must learn to talk and listen to people we disagree with, because you can't unfriend everyone in real life.

We invite you to participate in this year's project, by reading "We Need to Talk" and the project's related titles, by joining the One Book Reading Challenge on Beanstack, and by attending our One Book themed events and activities in the Wasco Branch Library over the next two months. Keep your eyes peeled for event notices!
