The February read I picked for another book challenge is Mango and Peppercorns. The challenge was to read a breakout novel of a person of color. I chose this book because it told the story of a Vietnamese refugee who landed in Miami and opened o e of the most successful Vietnamese restaurants in the city. It was a great story and I loved that they included many of the recipes from her family.

The February read for the flashback years. This 2013 book was incredible. There is a reason Khaled Hosseini is one of my favorite authors. The rich history of Kabul is described in such detail you feel as if you are there.

This book I have recommended to so many people. It’s a quick read you cannot put it down. It’s a cat and mouse game with so many twists it’s just such a page turner.

A great story- definitely read if you love the Rockettes and Radio City Music Hall as much as I do! There is nothing like NYC at Christmas time and this book did not disappoint.

The first read of another book challenge- the January book is a book written in the year you were born. I chose Sula, a very important work by Toni Morrison.

Started a few reading challenges this year- this book was the January read for the flashback year 2012. It’s a great quick read!

Started 2024 off with this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read by Lisa See. The setting, the characters and story unfold in a way that’s so unique. My book club all agreed it was a fantastic read.
I give 5 stars out very sparingly- this one did not disappoint!
