Without a dry eye, we are thrilled to announce that our dear Templeton has been adopted!
Our longest shelter resident, having spent 16 months with us, likely due to his age and long-term medical condition. This total sweetheart was a staff and volunteer favorite, as well as our office cat and ambassador to guests.
We will miss him, and he will be fondly remembered! Have a great life, buddy!

Missing in town.
Great Update Zoey is REUNITED. Late last night we got a tip from a woman named Emma who saw Zoey in the woods on Durham Rd. CTDGRV Carol went out to the location and thru guidance from Emma found the exact area. The area was very quiet with a stream. Perfect for a scared dog looking for a safe area. Carol explored the area and saw the woods ran back towards Choate School where sightings came in initially. Though challenging to see in to woods with such deep canopy Carol requested our drone pilots to search the woods near where she was spotted by Emma. CTDGRV Drone Pilots Sean and Erica went up and within 10 minutes found her laying under a log by the stream. Luckily she was laying in an area that was wide open from the sky. Zoey’s mom was called to come meet us as now we needed to have her go into the area and use our calming signal technique. Michelle was prepped earlier and given another quick review as we got closer to the area. Michelle quietly moved in and Erica coached her while the drone watched from above. Michelle had nerves of steel as Zoey twice started to come towards her but walked away. Erica encouraged her to continue to softy talk to Zoey and the third time was the charm. So many wonderful people to thank: Emma who called in the sighting that brought her home; Choate security team who supported the entire rescue effort; and Community members who kept a look out and searched the area and knew to call if sighted. Zoey is going to be checked at the vet. Her other two fur siblings will be in for a big surprise tonight. They really missed her as did her humans. Welcome home sweetie. Continue to enjoy your wonderful life. A couple of pictures from the rescue are in comments.
Missing Dog in Wallingford
We are searching for a friendly yet skittish dog who has gone missing. If you happen to see her, here’s how you can assist:
**Do not chase her** or call out her name, as this may scare her away.
**Take note of the exact location** where you spotted her.
**Call the number on the flyer** with details regarding her direction and behavior.
**Please refrain from posting about the sighting** publicly. We may need to set up a trap for her, and she will only feel safe if she is undisturbed in the area where she was seen.
Your help is greatly appreciated! Please share this information.

Today we meet.....ACO Meghan!!!
Meghan has only been with us since December, but you'd never know it. She comes from a background in caring for quite a few different species.
Meghan is the type that likes to learn by doing, and throws herself into the fire without hesitation. As such, she is catching on as fast as any manager can hope for. Heck, I'd go on record and say my stacks of papers would be even higher if she wasn't such a fast learner! 😆
She has bonded with our animals quickly, and has shown the patience and gentleness required to help some of our semi-feral cats make strides in the their socialization!
When not losing her keys or chasing geese, Meghan stays caffeinated and regularly volunteers taking care of horses!

Today, let's meet ACO Laura!
She is the definition of team player, and has the hustle and mindset to handle difficult situations.
Laura comes to us with a background in veterinary medicine (always an asset). She has been a veterinary technician for a looooong time, and currently splits her working life between us and Mount Carmel Veterinary Hospital .
In her free time she likes reading books, drinking coffee, and helping local rescues!! We are so lucky to have her on our team!!
