Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad
We are an independent, non profit, all volunteer organization providing free Emergency Medical Servi In the year 2008 the squad responded to over 1400 calls.
We, the members of the squad, are all volunteers , community members, and most importantly, your friends and neighbors. We take great pride in delivering free Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Rescue assistance to the residents of Wall Township , and providing EMS support to the Glendola and West Belmar Fire Companies. The Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad relies on individuals, like yourself, who reside in the township, to help make a difference in a personโs life by being part of a team that provides basic life support in an Emergency Medical Service to your neighbors, friends and relatives. A Registered Nurse, receptionist, a medical sales executive, a company director, a school bus driver, a police officer, a fitness consultant, and a retired school teacher are just some of your neighbors who volunteer their time to help save a life. Dedicated squad members, all volunteers, are lead by a team of officers with a wealth of experience in Emergency Medical Services and provide the knowledge and leadership necessary to maintain the highest standards in patient care in your community. Do not confuse the term volunteer with amateur. Our members are all qualified to perform their duties, and dedicate themselves to maintaining and enhancing their skills. To just ride on an ambulance all members must be certified in Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and be trained in awareness of hazardous materials, the emergency services incident command system, and awareness of weapons of mass destruction. (The latter was mandated by the State in response to the events of 9/11). All drivers are coached in the operation of emergency vehicles. Members that have contact with patients are all Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-Bs) certified by the State of New Jersey to perform their duties, some are additionally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition many of our members have taken more advanced level training in Pediatric care, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Assisting Paramedics. Some of our members through their experience and skill have become certified as instructors and teach in the EMT program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center .

๐ October Member Spotlight: Captain Christina Hernandez
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad is proud to shine our October Member Spotlight on someone whose story represents strength, courage, resilience, and service โ Captain Christina Hernandez.
Christina has dedicated an incredible 27 years to Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad, including the past 12 years serving as Captain. Throughout those years, she has helped lead our squad with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to our members and the community we serve. ๐
This month holds an especially meaningful place in Christinaโs story. As a breast cancer survivor, she knows firsthand the strength it takes to face the fight. Her journey is a reminder of why Breast Cancer Awareness Month matters โ to support those currently fighting, celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and encourage awareness and early detection. ๐
Beyond the squad, Christinaโs proudest role is being Mom to one amazing daughter. Her daughter is at the heart of her world and a tremendous source of pride, love, and inspiration.
For nearly three decades, Christina has answered the call for others. This October, weโre honored to recognize her.
27 Years of Service. 12 Years as Captain. Breast Cancer Survivor. Proud Mom. Leader. Inspiration. ๐
Please join us in celebrating Captain Christina Hernandez and all those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
๐ Together, we wear pink. Together, we support the fight

UPDATE: the roadway has been reopened
State Highways 33 & 34 westbound from the Collingwood Circle are currently impassable due to downed live power lines.
JCP&L is on scene making repairs. There is currently no estimated time for the roadway to reopen.
Residents who live along the affected highway corridor may exit their homes; however, those returning should expect to park their vehicles outside the affected area and proceed to their homes on foot, remaining clear of all downed wires and utility equipment.
