Wahoo Fire and Rescue

We have lifted the open burning ban for the Wahoo Fire Districts. Please pay attention to weather forecasts and use your best judgement. There are crops still standing so be mindful of your neighbors.

Last night if you saw lights down town around 5th and linden don’t worry it was just us training on our truck placement, staging and operation. As well as going over building construction.

The Wahoo and Wahoo Rural Fire District's have been place in a Open Burn Ban by the Wahoo Fire Department. With Harvest upon us and the crops continuing to dry out we are erroring on the side of caution. The Fire Chief will evaluate and lift as needed when we receive moisture. Have a Safe Harvest!

FLOOD WARNING had been issued for our area. Heavy rain upstream could impact our area. Do not drive through floodwaters.

TORNADO WATCH has been issued until 9pm this evening. Have multiple ways to receive warnings.

The Wahoo Fire Districts are currently under a Burn Ban, as per the Governor's Executive Order. All permits are suspended at this time.

Wednesday evening we took the opportunity to work through a couple different scenarios using our rope rescue equipment.

Please be weather aware this afternoon. Storms that do develop have the potential to be strong supercells. Take some time on this beautiful day to make a plan to receive notifications and find shelter locations.

Saunders County will be participating in the Statewide Tornado Siren Test at 10am.

As you can see on the 511 app, many highways and roads are still closed in Saunders County due to both snow and downed power lines. Please do not try to drive on the closed highways and create more problems for first responders. STAY HOME!
