A friendly reminder that the September edition of our monthly Random Doubles Partner Pickleball Tournament has been moved to Saturday, October 3 at 9am. We hope to see you on court!

Due to a scheduling problem, our regularly scheduled, last Saturday of every month, Random Doubles Partner Pickleball Tournament will NOT happen on Saturday, September 26. Instead we will push it forward one week to Saturday, October 3. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Know that we will be holding a second tourney at the end of October.

What a fun time we had at The Cape's 3rd Annual Classic Racquet Tournament. This time around, both adult players and junior players picked up the ancient instruments of tennis and competed mightily with white tennis balls. We were especially proud of our junior players who dared to play with prehistoric racquets - and guess what: Not a single broken racquet or string! We teamed each adult with a selected at random junior and off they went into round robin play, with top teams making the playoffs. Congratulations to the Champions, the "Double B" team of Bruce and Ben. Runner up honors were taken by the "Double L" team of Lisa and Laurena. 3rd place honors were taken by the family team of Martin and Laddy. Playing their way to 4th place was the "Eastern Bloc" team of Nicole and Preslav.
Oh, and everyone enjoyed the hamburger and hot dog cookout, plus the nerve-rattling flyovers by the Blue Angles during the Virginia Beach Air Show. Thanks to all who competed - and to the parents, family, and friends who came out to watch all of the action!

We agree with the Virginia Beach School Board in congratulating our pair of amazing juniors - German and Sam. Well done guys - and thanks for bringing a Virginia High School Championship to our area.

We have a couple of wonderful events that will coincide with the Virginia Beach Air Show. First - On Saturday, September 19 at 1pm we will stage our 3rd Annual Classic Racquet Tennis Tournament - where you will be issued a racquet from yesteryear and a random partner. This will be followed by a cookout as we enjoy our 50 yard line seats for many Blue Angels flyovers. Then - On Sunday, September 20 at noon - Get set for 3 hours of Open Play Pickleball, followed by ice cream and more Blue Angels flyovers!

Please email or text to reserve your spot and we hope to see you at The Cape on Air Show Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20.

Who wore it better: The Big Fig Newton in the 1975 (Hit it, Hal!), or Naomi Osaka at the 2026 US Open?
