I had the pleasure of captaining a unique trip today that exceeded all expectations. For some background, Why Knot Charters team donated a half-day nearshore charter to a local charity to auction for fundraising purposes. The trip was initially scheduled for the auction winners last June of 2025 but was postponed to June 2026 due to unforeseen circumstances, mainly weather-related cancellations. Today, we had the pleasure of hosting this wonderful family, and despite not being our usual offshore fishing trip, the results were outstanding. We traveled 20 miles southeast of Rudee and were delighted to catch a variety of fish, including Mahi, Flounder, Sea Bass, and Triggers. We shoved off at 0600 and were tied back up at 1100. We're happy to support such a great cause with Guys Doing Good and anticipate future collaborations.

What are the difference day makes after bouncing around on several snags yesterday and burning a crap ton of fuel for a slow bite, we landed on them today on the second spot and this crew of new customers and some regulars put the SmackDown on a boat limit of XL Jumbos, a few flounder and all the big chopper bluefish you care too play with.

Great day on the water with this Maryland crew it didn’t come easy we had to bounce around to find a bite. Eventually put it together and boated a limit of Black Sea Bass and 7 Triggers. Thanks gentlemen for spending the day on the water with us.
