Love these floors!
I used to hate penny tile. Especially earlier in my career, simply because I wasn’t good at them… I absolutely love them now. The amount of character you can build into a surface is literally limitless with them. I especially love being able to craft something to fit the space perfectly.
Part 3
Paint on waterproofing is the only way to create a monolithic waterproof surface in our showers. I think this is where the industry needs to put more focus. Hope this helps!

This reel is highlighting what happens when you get tile from different dye lots. In this case, it was not controllable because we are almost 2 1/2 months after the original installation and had to order more tile because of wanting to remove a bench. The opportunity to explain how this is likely to happen before proceeding turns this into informed consent.. you’ve informed them of the issue that will most likely happen and they’ve agreed to it
Having that little bit of understanding and ability to communicate, absolves you from having a potential conflict with the homeowner or contractor.

Backsplashes are the icing on the cake.
What’s wild to me about this whole platform is that most of the time you’re seeing finished products. I’m hoping to change that with my posts. Because there’s a lot to make something like this happen. Tile selection, layout, joint size selection, installation, trim color/type, grout color, sealing tile (if heavy texture or natural stone) grouting, silicone color selection (if a dark color grout I prefer running something to match surroundings, if a color matched grout use the same color silicone) then running silicone against countertops and cabinets.
