#1 when I was a student, i went to my teacher and they had an amp and a music stand......while it works, today's students would be better served by using desktop or laptop computers + music stand and amps of course...
#2 access to the internet during the lesson.....It's very important that we be able to look up songs and look at tablature and notation online together that's why Wi-Fi will be available during our lessons.
#3 Using various recording and software notation programs will be immensely useful so the students can continue their learning on their computers at home....everything will be linked together via the internet and email.
#4 Students will have their own reverbnation pages eventually, their own myspace pages, their own pages...of course with the parents permission, and my supervision, but they will at least be able to hear themselves on their own CD's in their car, on their computer, or on their phone......imagine sending grandma up north a CD or mp3 over the internet of their grandchild playing with a full backing band behind them.
I can teach them how to do this and facilitate this for you and your family. Playing music is truly a very great and rewarding hobby and a lot better than allowing the kids to constantly bury their face into computer games and cell phones.
Playing a musical instrument has been shown to increase memory and help brain function across a multitude of subjects. Music is very mathematically related. Notes are additive, divisible, etc......trust me knowing fractions can help :)

Great samples of my playing can be found at
https://www.reverbnation.com/johnrolston
everything is mostly improvised.....quickly.....
i am playing bass and guitar on everything....basically if it's not a drum it's me......till i get an electronic drum set hehe...
i can record you and get you sounding like this (or better hahah) on your own cd's that you can play in your car or download / upload to sites like reverbnation etc....you can even mp3 them to your phone / mp3 player :)

will take you to a youtube video which contains a song called "The Things that Kill Me." written by Dave Kraft the Hit Factory's hitting and infield instructor. I John Rolston, played rhythm along with Dave and then played the solo which begins at 2 mins into the song. The band was called Medicated and we were a local Original Sarasota rock band back in 2003 with a good following and we had record label interest. We did some touring around Fl, and we had some airplay with this song on several Fl rock stations. So once again my solo starts around 2mins....please enjoy the song in it's entirety to hear your friend and baseball coach Dave and your soon to be musician friend John having a good time playing music about ten years ago.
