OLLI would love to thank this week's "Listening to Women" speakers, Neirda Thompson-Pemberton, Deshjuana "Desh" Bagley, and Jane the Robot for such an informing lecture on the world of programing and robotics! Thank you to everyone who came out to listen in as well; don't miss out on the next "Listening to Women" lecture on February 23.

I wrote to Senator Rick Scott and Ashley Moody, and my State Representative. I'm asking them to take a stand for professionalism, core values, and empathy. I'm asking them to stand up to bullies who send emails on a weekend during family time requesting data reports on a Monday. I would never do that to my employees.

9️⃣1️⃣. This life that I’ve been blessed to live is not one that I take for granted. As a little black boy growing up in the South Side of Chicago, making it to 91 wasn’t even a dream because it never seemed possible. But as I stand before you today, I am grateful for every person who lent me a shoulder to stand on…From Count Basie to Nadia Boulanger to Joseph Powe to all of the individuals who told me I was worth another day.
To all-a-y’awl out there, never underestimate the positive impact that you can have on a kid’s life because it may just be the difference between them making it to 19 or 91. Thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes & I pray that I can continue to pass down what the great’s have given to me!! Keep on keepin’ on…U know I am!

Hurricane Milton is anticipated to hit Florida’s West Coast. Praying for our friends in FIRST LEGO League and our Bay Area Church of Christ family. Additionally, I am praying for our colleagues at SCF Coding Academy. Many of our friends are still recovering from Helene’s damage. This storm is headed for our coast and it’s no joke. Be safe everyone.
