Meet Diego 👋

Originally from El Salvador, Diego developed a deep appreciation for nature early on, growing up surrounded by the outdoors and adventure. His journey later took him to Mexico, where he pursued a degree in finance and, along the way, unexpectedly discovered a passion for technology.

A lifelong learner at heart, Diego is driven by curiosity and a desire to continuously expand his knowledge. Beyond his professional interests, family plays a central role in his life. He values the time spent with loved ones, believing that meaningful connections are just as important as personal and professional growth.

Diego’s story reflects a balance of ambition, curiosity, and heart, qualities that make him a valuable part of any team.

Last week, the TruSummit team had the incredible opportunity to travel to El Salvador to spend time with five of our teammates who live and work there.

While we collaborate every day through screens and messages, nothing compares to being together in person. This trip was about more than travel—it was about connection.

We shared team-building experiences, embraced adventure, and strengthened the bonds and relationships that make TruSummit what it is. Stepping outside the normal daily grind allowed us to see each other not just as coworkers, but as people—with stories, perspectives, and shared goals.

At TruSummit, we believe strong teams are built through intentional time together. Investing in our people—no matter where they’re located—creates trust, alignment, and a culture that fuels long-term success.

This trip was a powerful reminder that when our people grow stronger, TruSummit grows stronger.

Two Years with TruSummit — The Best Leap of Faith I Ever Took

It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years since I joined TruSummit. I still remember meeting Grant Weber and Scott Ramsey in my San Francisco office for our Agreement Signing — followed by lunch at Max’s Opera Café and coffee at Peet’s, a tradition that continues today.

Joining TruSummit was a true Leap of Faith. After decades as an independent broker — having taken over my family agency in 2001 under difficult and personal circumstances — I’d built a strong, successful operation. But when major carrier partners began scaling back or shutting down starting in 2022, everything changed. Over 80% of my long-built book was suddenly at risk.

That’s when I began searching for help… and was introduced to Grant. What started as a cautious conversation turned into a genuine partnership. Grant helped me save my SAFECO book when others couldn’t — without any promise that I’d join TruSummit. That integrity mattered.

So I made the leap.

Two years later, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I’m grateful for the support of our incredible TruSummit team — from leadership (Grant, Scott, Missy) to the support staff who keep everything running smoothly. A special thanks as well to my assistant Elizabeth Casey, whose dedication helped us roll and retain hundreds of policies during a chaotic market.

Today, my book of business is 35% larger than at any point in my independent years, and I’m finally back on offense with strong marketing campaigns and a bright horizon ahead.

From One of the Hardest Seasons of My Life… to the Strongest One Yet

Before joining TruSummit, I found myself in a terrible situation at my previous firm. Not only were my commissions being taken, but my policies were being stolen as well — and somehow I was blamed for “coding them incorrectly.” In reality, I had documentation proving those clients were mine. That experience pushed me to reach out for help… and that’s when I met Brandon, who eventually introduced me to our fearless leader with the world’s most questionable dad jokes — you know who you are, Grant 😂.

All of this was happening while I was caring for both my sick grandmother and mother, helping my dad manage the household, and trying not to lose him under the weight of it all. It was one of the most overwhelming periods of my life. If it hadn’t been for Hailey, who stood firmly by my side and kept everything moving until I found Grant and the incredible Support Team at TruSummit, I’m not sure I would have made it through. There were moments I truly thought about walking away from everything.

But I didn’t.

Since joining TruSummit, everything has changed.
My business has grown dramatically — and I’m on track to hit my first million in Q1 of 2026, with a goal of reaching two million by year-end.

To Grant, Scott, Diego, Missy, and the entire Support Team:

Your leadership, encouragement, and genuine care helped me rebuild not just my business, but my confidence and stability in one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Not posting this as a brag — but as a milestone marker for TruSummit, something we can look back on as we set future benchmarks.

📈 Since June 2024, we’ve grown 565%, adding $21,995,552.42 in managed premium.
👥 We were static for 5 years with just 6 productive staff (not including me).
🚀 In the past 15 months, we’ve welcomed 16 new teammates — and 13 have successfully completed our training/probationary period.

I’m so proud of the culture we’ve built:

When people come together with a common vision, the result is exponential — not just in growth for the company, but in personal and professional growth for each individual.

Back in 2022, I was frustrated with where we stood after 5 years. I made a commitment to raise our standards for conduct and accountability. That shift required action — and action naturally raised ethics, performance, and ultimately our outcomes.

Bottom line: You get out what you put in.

I’m deeply grateful to our team, our partners, and our clients for believing in the vision and pushing the line forward together. The best is still ahead. 🙌
