💙 Our friends at the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas are offering a special opportunity for local youth this summer through Camp Journey, a free grief camp for adolescents ages 12–16 who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Camp Journey provides a supportive and caring environment where participants can connect with others who understand their experiences while exploring healing through expressive arts, music therapy, outdoor activities, and even a special basketball day with representatives from the San Antonio Spurs.
Grief can feel isolating, but no child should have to navigate it alone. We encourage families who may benefit from this program to learn more and consider registering.
📅 June 9–12, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 319 N. Getty Street, Uvalde
For more information or to register, contact Amanda at (830) 333-9833 or

🌟 Summer Reading Sign Up Starts Tomorrow! 🌟
Join us tomorrow, May 26th at 10:00 AM as we kick off this year’s Summer Reading Program: ✨Unearth a Story!✨
While this year’s kickoff may look a little different as we focus on registration and getting everyone signed up, don’t worry — we’re planning a BIG finale celebration to end the summer with lots of fun! 🎉📚
2026’s theme, Unearth a Story™, celebrates the joy of discovery that reading brings and reminds us that every person and every community has stories waiting to be found and shared through books, programs, and local knowledge.
We understand some schools are still in session, but you’ll still have time to register throughout the rest of the week. If you plan on attending programs, please make sure to register before June 1st.
We can’t wait to spend another summer reading, learning, and making memories with our community. Stop by and get registered to start your adventure!
