Most mid-sized organizations outsource their EAP and assume the box is checked. “We’re covered.”

Here’s the problem: most employees never use it. And when they do, the clinician on the other end may not recognize what they’re hearing. Your EAP has a billing code for anxiety. It doesn’t have one for AI anxiety yet.

I wrote about that gap and three questions every HR and People leader should be asking their EAP provider right now. If your provider can’t answer with confidence, that’s information.

You’re already thinking hard about how AI is reshaping the workplace. Are you thinking just as hard about the humans doing it?

Reach out if you’re asking:
-How do we talk about AI anxiety without creating more fear?
-What does proactive, culturally responsive support look like alongside our EAP?
-How do we upskill managers to recognize AI anxiety before it becomes a crisis?

Is your EAP actually ready for this moment?

As Pride month comes to a close, the work of loving and protecting LGBTQ+ youth keeps going. The CDC reports that LGBTQ+ young people face discrimination, rejection, and mental health challenges at far higher rates than their peers, which means the adults in their lives have a real role to play.

In this piece, .aneeshaperkins shares four ways to show up: deepen your relationship, bond through shared activities, partner with school officials, and practice self-soothing skills together.

None of these require being perfect. They ask for presence, consistency, and a willingness to keep showing up after the parades end.

June is National Employee Wellness Month, and the standard has shifted.

Wellbeing is no longer a line item or a lunch-and-learn. It is a strategic priority that shapes how organizations recruit, engage, and retain top talent. And the research keeps pointing to the same thing: emotional wellbeing is one of the top concerns employees bring to work every day.

But strategy only holds when the foundation is real.

That means emotional wellbeing is named as an organizational value, not assumed. It means managers have the tools to recognize burnout and mental health struggles early, before they become crises. It means wellness programming is designed to reach every employee, with culturally relevant content, diverse providers, and scheduling that works for all roles. It means employees know where to find support and feel safe enough to use it. And it means trauma-informed practices are woven into the everyday culture, not pulled out only when something goes wrong.

Five questions. Five places where most organizations have more room to grow.

Want to go deeper? We put together a free screening tool to help organizations assess their emotional wellbeing strategy. It walks through the same five areas covered here and gives you a clearer picture of where to focus. Find it at innopsych.com/workwell.

Drop a comment or share this with someone navigating these questions. We would love to hear where your organization is in this work.
