We are saddened by the loss of one of RSA's long time employees, George Frost. His service is tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.. Obituary linked in the comments.

As we look back on our last 30 days and our largest member event of the year, we want to say how truly thankful we are for our convention sponsors. Their help has been invaluable. Their efforts meshed well with out goals to help educate and inform retired state and local government employees about their benefits. We look forward to future events when we can partner with them again.

If you do not have access to a group plan, contact 1-800-AGE-LINE and ask to speak with a SHIP Counselor. They are trained volunteers who will help you find a plan that works best for you. You may also visit the Medicare website for more information on how to select the plan best for you.

The Jefferson County Health Department is holding their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. today.

The SEIB increase has hit the news. Members heard the details at our convention last week and received an emailed Weekly Update to state retirees following the convention with a link to the recorded speech by Bob Childree.

Retirees in need of Medicare supplements can sign up today for this Friday's webinar hosted by AMBA. Link to register in the comments.

RSA has sent a message out to state and local government* retirees in the Employees' Retirement System to inform them that their one-time lump sum bonus payment will be arriving no later than October 31st. If you have an MOS account, you can view this message and also obtain information on any taxes you may have taken out.

You can waive the bonus payment if it will keep you from receiving Medicaid benefits.

Please log onto your MOS account to find this information. If you have not set up an MOS account, this is a good time to do it. If you aren't sure, check the e-mail you have given RSA to communicate with regarding your benefits. You should see an alert showing you have a message on your MOS account.
