Air Advantage customers: We encourage you to follow the new TEC Fiber page. This will now be the primary source of information for Air Advantage internet customers.

TEC Fiber is excited to debut our new page! This page will be used to give updates on all things internet-related. If you are interested in staying up-to-date with TEC Fiber content, we recommend following us. Our Thumb Electric page will remain active, but it will primarily be used for content relevant to the electric side of the business. We encourage TEC members to follow both accounts. We look forward to keeping you informed on all TEC Fiber happenings!

Attention Air Advantage customers: It has been brought to our attention that a phishing email is being sent to our customers that states that Air Advantage will be discontinuing support for accounts operating under our previous Terms of Service. It also urges customers to "review and accept our updated Terms of Service by *October 30, 2025*."
This email is a SCAM and is not a legitimate request from us. The link in the email will take you to a fake landing page (shown below) that will ask you to enter your email address and password. DO NOT enter your information on this page. If you see an email that looks like this, please delete it from your inbox.
Thank you to the customers who brought this phishing attempt to our attention. Please call our office at 989-652-9500 if you ever encounter a suspicious email that claims to be from us.

Outage update: The internet outage has now been restored. Thank you for your patience during the restoration efforts.

Air Advantage is aware of an internet outage currently affecting fiber and wireless customers. We had a card failure in our Frankenmuth fiber node. The card was replaced with a spare but unfortunately, the new card is not coming online as expected. 2 additional spare cards are en route. Estimated restoration time is 12:30pm. We appreciate your patience during this process.

UPDATE 11:27am: Our Sebewaing Fiber node is back online. All services have been restored.

We are aware of an outage with our Sebewaing fiber node affecting several services in the Thumb. We are working to restore service as soon as possible.

We want to remind all our valued users to stay vigilant against phishing attempts. Recently, there have been reports of fraudulent emails and texts claiming to be from Air Advantage, asking you to accept new terms for email accounts and asking you to provide your email username and password.

Please remember: Air Advantage will NEVER send you an email or text with a link asking for your email credentials.

🔒 Your security is our top priority. If you receive any suspicious emails or texts, do not click on any links or provide any personal information.

UPDATE: Connectivity to Chicago has been restored around 1:15am. We will continue to monitor the situation. If you still have no internet service please reboot your equipment and try again in a few minutes.

We are aware that internet service has gone down for many TEC Advantage customers. This outage has been caused by an air conditioning issue beyond our control at a major third-party data center in Chicago. Several internet providers are impacted. We do not have an estimated time of restoration at this time but will provide updates as more information becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience of this occurring during the Lions game!

Billing update for Air Advantage customers:
Thumb Electric Cooperative (TEC) purchased Air Advantage back in 2021. Since that time, two separate billing systems have been used to generate bills for the two internet service providers. Starting on November 7th, 2023, Air Advantage’s billing system will be combined with TEC’s. The new billing date will be the 15th of each month.
