Our team had a great time at the 2026 Texas Annual Prevention Providers' Meeting learning new ideas for our work and sharing our strengths with other providers from around the state!
We love any opportunity to gather with those making a difference in their community and finding ways to help each other to make all of Texas a better place!

June is also Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month!
1 in 5 teen boys faces a mental health challenge, and with the right support, healing and resilience are absolutely possible.
Death by su***de is a leading cause of death for men ages 15–34 according to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America. Men account for nearly 80% of all su***de deaths, and 60% of those men had no documented mental health condition.
Remind the men in your life that it's ok to open up, talk about their emotions, ask for help, and take care of themselves!

June is also National PTSD Awareness Month
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can happen after experiencing or witnessing something scary, overwhelming, or unsafe, and it doesn’t always look the same for everyone, especially teens.
For young people, symptoms may show up as:
- Trouble sleeping or frequent nightmares
- Feeling on edge, irritable, or easily startled
- Avoiding places, people, or memories that feel “too much”
- Mood changes, numbness, or feeling disconnected
- Difficulty focusing at school or with daily routines
If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available, and healing is possible. Talking to a trusted adult, counselor, or mental health professional can be an important first step.
You don’t have to carry it alone!
The FRESH15 is a favorite experience each year for our staff and we greatly appreciate the Brookshire’s team for their hard work putting this together and supporting so many non-profits in our community!

Youth smoking rates have changed dramatically over time.
In the U.S., teen cigarette use has dropped from about 36% in the late 1990s to around 6% today, an incredible reminder that prevention and education make a real difference!
This progress reflects the impact of awareness campaigns, school-based education, and community prevention efforts that help young people make healthier choices for their future.
When we invest in education and support, we create lasting change for the next generation!
