There will be a risk for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding across the majority of the region through tonight. New rainfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible. Within the Slight Risk area, there is a 15% chance of flash flooding within 25 miles of any given location.

East Texas is expecting a soggy next few days. The second graphic depicts the probability of receiving 1.5 inches of rainfall by Tuesday morning. Please note that higher accumulations of 2-4 inches are still entirely possible.

Sunday will bring the chance for afternoon and evening storms possible. Some of the storms may create small hail and strong winds.

That being said, dry conditions expected today with highs in the 90s and heat index values from 100 to 105 degrees across much of the region. Please hydrate and stay indoors when possible!

Heat Index values could again approach 105 degrees across several locations around East Texas! Please be careful when out and about!

There will also be a risk for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding across the northern half of the region today and this evening. New rainfall accumulations of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible. Within the Marginal Risk area, there is a 5% chance of flash flooding within 25 miles of any given location.

Late overnight tonight after midnight, a line of storms will approach East Texas from the north. Some of the storms within this line may become severe, capable of producing damaging wind gusts. The storms will also have the potential to produce rainfall totals of 1-2 inches, which may result in isolated flash flooding in areas which receive torrential heavy rains.

There will be a risk for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding areawide this afternoon and evening. Strong thunderstorms could result in rainfall rates of 2 to 4 inches an hour in northern portions of East Texas.

There is a Marginal to Slight Risk for thunderstorms producing excessive rainfall this afternoon and evening across East Texas. The risk of flash flooding is highest along and northwest of the Interstate 30 corridor where periodic rainfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour are more likely.

Strong thunderstorms this afternoon and evening will be very efficient rainfall producers and could result in rainfall rates of 2 to 4 inches an hour. This will result in a risk for flash flooding this afternoon and evening across portions of Southeast Oklahoma and much of East Texas. Within the Slight Risk area in East Texas, there is a 15% chance of flash flooding within 25 miles of a given location.
